We conduct a targeted search and advertising campaign, understand what experience and qualifications you are looking for a candidate to have achieved. An interview will be conducted for your specific vacancy, at this time we will talk through their experience and qualifications and explain your particular vacancy to them. How do I start using temporary workers through Grey Seal Recruitment?

All we need is the initial instruction from you, with details of your needs. We source candidates in the same way as for permanent placements. Once you are happy with a candidate we will have a contract with them and will pay them monthly and invoice you monthly. (click here to view services)


Why would I use Grey Seal Recruitment instead of advertising myself?

Sometimes it is right to advertise a vacancy and we can also offer this service. We will deal with responses, first interviews and shortlist, offers and rejections.


Some clients prefer to advertise their vacancies initially, particularly if they have a larger HR Department to deal with responses, or they have a number of similar vacancies in the same location. If they still have positions left unfilled they will come to Grey Seal at that point to fill their more difficult vacancies. Other clients like to advertise and use Grey Seal at the same time to supplement their own responses. There may also be times where the lead time for advertising is simply too long and prior to going to adverts clients may ask Grey Seal to search the database.


Using Grey Seals contingency service allows you to tap into a pool of candidates from our extensive database, advertisement on top internet jobsites such as Total Jobs and Fish 4. Unlike advertising where you pay “upfront” regardless of whether you find the right candidate, Grey Seal only charge a fee if we make a placement. If that person subsequently leaves within our guarantee period you will be entitled to rebates. You do not have to wait for advertising deadlines – we start the search immediately and can often have the person offered and accepted before the advertising deadline rolls around. Candidates want to attend interviews for a job they are interested in and like to feel the confidence that comes from being fully prepared. Starting with understanding candidate needs, matching them with suitable companies and explaining in what ways we feel the company will match their needs. Helping candidates to prepare for interview, ensuring they have access to information and guidance to research. We maintain contact throughout the process, confirming arrangements by telephone and email, and calling prior to interview to answer any other queries and to ensure they are still keen to attend. If for any reason they wish to withdraw we are very approachable and understand peoples circumstances change, so when this happens we know in advance.


How does Grey Seal Recruitment encourage commitment from temporary workers?

The best way to maintain quality is to ensure the candidates stay with the company for as long as you need them. This is where using Grey Seal can really pay off. We look after temporary workers very well, they have a named payroll professional with direct lines and email, we have an exceptionally low number of payroll queries and try very hard to resolve any issues prior to pay day. We find temporary workers placements with other providers for the times you do not need them, and in between requirements. This means they stay loyal to Grey Seal and thereby to our clients. Although for temporary workers there is no notice period we do ask them to give as much notice as they can or to finish the learners they have been allocated if at all possible.
