A CV is written to get you the interview not the job. It needs to detail your work experience ? most recent job first, your qualifications, a short profile and brief personal details. An employer needs to assess if you meet their criteria for interview, so are looking at your CV and asking: Does this person have the qualifications I am seeking? Have they worked for a similar company? Do they have the experience I am looking for? For detailed guidance on CV writing specific to this industry please go to our resource page.

How do I become an NVQ Assessor?
Details of the qualifications and the routes to achieve them are contained in our resource pages. In brief you need to have working experience in the role you are to assess in e.g., if you are to assess retail NVQs you need to have worked in a shop preferably within the last two years but could be within the last 5 years. You also need to have worked at a minimum of supervisory level. You need then to attain the A1 qualification which is fairly straight forward but difficult to achieve if you are not working for a training provider. Many of our clients will employ candidates who have the work experience they are looking for and offer them training to gain the A1.
We have tips for interviews, CV writing, researching companies in our resource section .
